Hi Doug. All it means is that at the beginning of each frame, make sure you have a call to glClear(), with at least GL_COLOR_BUFFER_BIT before you do any rendering. If you are redrawing the entire screen, this may seem unnecessary and a wasted call, but apparently it's faster to include the call than not. Strange but true.

Can you explain what you mean by "Clear the colour buffer for faster rendering". Perhaps a code example? I'm curious.

In this case I'm not searching Twitter at all. Rather, I'm following a bunch of people who are happy to share and ask useful questions. Searching on Twitter is a headache, I'd hit Google or Stackoverflow.com first.

@Maniacdev - nice to 'meet' you. I think the key word in your comment was 'active'. This site has been a little quiet, but hopefully being part of #iDevBlogADay will help that.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your comment. Yes I've heard of the Internet, and have been using it since before it was called the Internet :) And you're right, stackoverflow.com is a fantastic resource. My point was more that I've found answers to questions I didn't even know I wanted to ask, and stackoverflow can't do that.

I'm not suggesting Twitter is the panacea for every ill, rather that it can be like tapping into other developers day-to-day workflow, helping me avoid problems before I'm even aware they are problems.

I don't get how this is related to Twitter? Have you never used the internet before? The chance of finding these bits of information on Twitter is the same as googling them, reading blogs or asking on forums (stackoverflow anyone?)

Twitter just adds another degree of indirection.
